yarn: worsted weight, approx 100 yds
needles: US size 7 (4.5mm) or size needed to acheive gauge
notions: cable needle, yarn needle
gauge: 20 sts & 24 rnds = 4"/10 cm test your gauge to ensure desired finish
skills used: knitting in the rnd, cables, backward-loop CO, mid-rnd BO
construction: knuckle down (or knuckle up according to your viewpoint!)
These are some cozy cable mitts knit from the knuckle down so you can make the cuff as long as you want. Work them on 2 circulars, one long circular, or 5 dpn, whatever you prefer. About 125 yards of worsted weight yarn and size 7 or 8 needles (according to yarn and your tension) will be enough for a pair.
They’re off kilter because each mitt sports two cable sequences, with one of the cables housing the thumb hole and the other appearing off center on the back of the hand. There’s no left mitt or right mitt, so you can’t get it wrong.
