Description

This basic men’s cardigan pattern is a perfect beginner project or for knitting with self-patterning yarns, highly textured yarns, or any yarn that needs to be the star of the show. Pattern includes instructions for crew neck and V neck. Knit from the top down with raglan shaping, this cardigan is a seamless garment that is easily custom-fit. (Makes at least 36 different sweaters!)

Materials

• Needle size for chosen gauge (see patt) 24” & 16” circular needles and dpn set
• Stitch holders (or scrap yarn)
• Stitch markers (4)
• Yarn needle
• 6 (6, 8, 8), 8 (8, 10, 10) 7/8” [2 cm] buttons

Skills Used

Knitting in the round, increases, decreases, picking up stitches, eyelet buttonholes


Yarn Used: Cascade 220 Paints (100% wool), color #9928



Construction

Knit from the top down with raglan shaping, this cardigan is a seamless garment that is easily custom-fit. Sleeves are knit from the top down in the round and button/ buttonhole bands and V-neck edging are worked after picking up stitches around front opening. Makes at least 36 different sweaters! Suggested ease of approx 4” [10 cm].
