One of a round of birthday hats for my daughters, the J-28 is a classic cable hat designed for my middle daughter Jessica's 28th birthday.

Materials

• Aran weight yarn (heavy worsted), approx 40 (85, 120) yds [36.5 (77.5, 109.5) m]
• US size 9 [5.5 mm] 16” circular needle or size needed to achieve gauge
• US size 9 [5.5 mm] dpn set of five or second 16” circular needle
• Cable needle
• Stitch marker
• Yarn needle

Gauge

16 sts & 20 rnds = 4” [10 cm] in Chart A patt, after blocking
